About Juniper and Avici I started reading about them and when I got to the "end to end", it was what suggested the "mule train". I don't see why guys think SR is so absurd, yet they buy the practicality of that. It is the advent of such juggernaut solutions to a rising problem that alert you to the end of the technology. It is all linear extrapolation rather than creative innovation trying to solve a problem that is growing non-linearly. I'd like to know how they intend to standardize their flows or get the switch or router manufacturers to cooperate with compatible devices.

<< While we're on the subject of Juniper and Avici, are you aware of any progress being made in the way of betas or actual deployments? >>

All I know is what I read in the media: QWST was doing something w/ Juniper early on but nothing came of it; later QWST started using Avici stuff in beta, but i've heard no further word. QWST/Anschutz seem to have no ties to the third horse, Nexabit. (There are others out there like Pluris and NetCore that I'm less familiar with.) I joked a while back that these start-ups seem to come in three's: one for LU to buy, one for CSCO, and one for NT. Oops, need one for Alcatel too.
