Rich, Thanks for confirming my understanding.

Yes, of course it only works if I'm the ONLY one with a bid at that price. I sometimes use odd quantities (rather than 1,000 shares) if I want to "make sure" where my order is at.

Another "trick" I've used with a limit order is the change the price or size and watch Level II to see which MM acts on the change. I usually can pick it up right away now, with a little experience under my belt.
