Cheryl,

To play devil's advocate... Marathon may have produced ONTAK if they had the supplies and staff available and nothing better to do with their time. Keeping otherwise idle workers busy is good for moral but possibly bad from a business sense if you're investing money into finished goods that can be quickly produced. In such circumstances, it's better to keep the workers idle.

Of course, I don't know what the story is at Marathon. I do hope it was a fiscally wise decision to make the ONTAK.

FWIW

Jeff

Cheryl,

I've enjoyed the points that have been made on the thread as of late! IMHO, it is clear now that ONTAK will be approved for sale(albeit within no ones time frame but the FDA). The only question now is how much money will ONTAK produce for LGND in the coming years. With ONTAK on the home stretch, and the gel close behind, my interest is more focused on the follow up products that LGND will be able to draw revenue from. If LGND is going to one day be a mid sized pharmaceutical company, obviously the two current products waiting for FDA action are not the sole income providers of the future. Ah, it would have been sweet to have had a Prilosec or Vasotec as the initial product to bring to market! But heck, even MSD wasn't that fortunate :- ). I am speculating however, that the MUCH talked about LGND pipeline will one day produce good fortune for those invested.

Good Luck to all,
Greg
