My comment Re: Zip vs RW is my personal opinion after having used both. I have not exactly done any research here either. But may be I should. I do think that this CD technology is an attractive opinion that offers more in the way of multi-media uses. It sure hit my hot button.

I think that IOM has a lot of competition here. You are correct that they are highly visible, not only in the stores but as optional equipment with some PC Manufacturers. I do not think IOM goes away but I believe they will have trouble growing market share unless than can unveil some revolutionary technology that is heads and shoulders above their competition.

Ultimately, I guess that which types of removable drive one chooses will be a matter of personal preference and/or needs.

I may do a little research here. There may be some attractive companies in this area. I doubt I will buy IOM again.
