Alan, as you know, our roots in our past is what defines us both genetically and spiritually. We cannot change our genetics but we can change our spiritual understanding by going back and discovering what is truth and what is myth.
God said "know the truth and the truth will set you free."
How can we know the truth unless we use the grace that God is willing to release to us when we discover our mistaken beliefs?
You can choose to break the bonds that you find yourself in by becoming a seeker of what was that has caused the reality in your life today.
I shall remember you in my prayers that God will reveal to you a way out of your dilemma.
God keep you,
Santiago

Alan,

"I tune out so I get nothing from it... The only reason I came on this ridiculous thread was because of Emile calling Jews Satan worshippers and you know the rest. No I am not interested in learning anything."

That is why things appear to be going in circles to you. Why judge and participate if you have determined in advance that you do not wish to change your mind? There is no purpose in dialogue, it becomes merely recitation and refutation.

It may surprise you, but I would like to go to Jewish services sometime. The richness of knowledge, wisdom, and tradition fascinates me. I guess I equate not learning with not living, and I like to learn everything, see what everyone would teach me. Perhaps one of these days I will make it to a synagogue or temple (sorry, I'm not even sure which word is appropriate).

Peace,
Darrin

Alan,

<<I am comfortable with asking for guidance through prayer and a personal relationship with GOD...........>>

With all due respect, why are you then so dead set against other people building personal relationships with God. The key word is personal. That is going to mean something different to everyone.

<<My relationship with God is good enough for me...... He knows my thoughts and I am comfortable with it.............>>

Others feel the same way, with just as much credibility, no more and no less..
