Hi Thread,

Can anyone tell me how to send a private message to all of you? I went to the new member thread, but it's just a lot of clutter over there. I need your help to find out some info that I strongly believe is critical to the movement of CPQ's stock price right now. I can't just post it on the thread, because I don't want lurkers to see it. The reason why will become obvious when you read my message.

Mysteriously yours,

K

let me throw my 2 cents in on the cpq earnings question....I have said this before but some of you may have missed it....Last March Intel preannounced an negative quarter and it was followed 2 days later by a negative announcemnt by Compaq. Last qtr intel preannounced a positive qtr. and cpq came in with excellent sales in that qtr. This qtr intc preannounce positive qtr due to strong PC sales in all regions. I don't think legal insider information could be disseminated any more clearly. Intels biggest customer is kicking some major butt everywhere. The writing is on the wall. Compaq is doing very, very well and Intel told us that and EP affirmed it when he said he is comfortable with earnings. Let the doubting thomases have their fun, but those of us that can read the writing on the wall will be rewarded with an excellent qtr from Compaq.
My 2 cents on this matter, but it seems painfully clear to me.. I wouldn't sell this stock now unless you were making a general market call

vepoc,
I don't agree or disagree with the call to sell Compaq. I posted the link because it was information I found in my cyberspace journey. It might be a good call if we have another market slide, correction, or what ever phrase one chooses to use. Some people are forecasting such a move because the market has recovered so quickly. At that point, buying Compaq at 30 or below is good. I agree a trader's mind set.

On the other hand, should we go to 10,000 on the DOW with Compaq reporting good earnings, it is a bad call. The last I heard Acompora believes we are in a Bull market that might go to 10,000. The gentleman has made some good calls lately. Let's see if he is correct on this one.

Until Compaq announces earnings, I do think it will follow the general market.

Long on CPQ
