Mr. Smart,

You stated:
"Based on my record, I am usually 2-3 years ahead of the crowd. I see these things like they're crystal clear, but I have to understand how slow, boxed and backward the general crowd is."

What is your record? Even after you tell us what your record is, how in this "age of individual freedom" can we be sure that your record is genuine?

"The only thing that's held back Novell's massive turnaround is perception and mindshare."

One of my favorite quotes is "Perception is reality"...Does anyone know who first said it?

"Gates and Balmer worked night and day for 3-4 straight years to pummell Novell in the public market for perception mindshare within corporate higher level circles."

And they have done a hell of a job at it...

"I will get off my soapbox and head to church...."

God Bless...Please pray for over .10 earnings and growth in revenues next week...otherwise I see NOVL getting to more familiar territory...

Sincerely,

George

"my vision and understanding about technology and the internet"

"I see these things like they're crystal clear, but I have to understand how slow, boxed and backward the general crowd is. Call this naiveté or whatever, but the masses and Wall Street will eventually come to this table."

Gag.

Your humility inspires me.

I have to say that the common knowledge on Wall Street is exactly what you are espousing, it's hardly a radical view.

Have you seen all the 23 year old internet analysts that have been on CNBC lately?

Looks to me like the "naive masses" are with you. You preach mostly to the converted.

Let me know how much personal freedom you feel the next time you're standing in the voting booth and it says:

Al Gore or George W. Bush

Just like it said Clinton or Dole.

Or Clinton or Bush.

Or (almost) any of our elected Representatives and Senators.

Republican or Democrat.

High taxes or higher taxes. Big government or bigger government.

That's personal freedom?

I'm going to say that the Dow going from 3500 to 9000 over the last 4 years has been largely because of the "internet wave" you are pushing.

Were you talking about it back then?

But mostly the Dow surge is due to a Fed that forgot it was cyclically supposed to keep the markets from overheating in 1994.

Instead they kept pumping like it was the bottom of a recession.

They're still pumping.

No offense, but the new age/era argument is a well worn one.

Just like it was at the end of all the other "new eras" you reference.

Add electricity, the printing press, television, etc.

Were those all seamless changeovers? Good times to more good times?

The history books say no.
