Any pattern is taken to be a signal of either continuation or reversal. In general, a pattern holds a higher probability of continuation but the outcome is usually not certain until after the fact. Pattern formation normally represents overhead being dealt with. If a chart moving up goes into a pattern that breaks to the downside, overhead was being created. If it breaks to the upside, overhead was being absorbed. There are times of course when a surprise funnymental thing occurs and blows everything out of the water.

Slightly tangential to this discussion I noticed that by removing all but the last 2 days of AKLM's triangle a fin is seen in relation to the first day of the triangle. No other two consecutive days during the triangle did this. Interesting.
