<<pez is building a post and beam which supports the floors and roof.If he does it right he will use mortise and tenon joints >>Actually this post and beam will be used to support a ridge pole as I am creating an open beam ceiling and removing the ceiling joists that are holding the walls together. "Mortise and tenon joints" I'm not quite that sophisticated . In their place I will be using heavy duty Simpson Column Caps.Himm...for better or worse modern construction methods replaces old fashion craftsmanship. pez
