Dale,

I use Laplink by Traveling Software to syncronize files between my laptop and desktop, and to back up data directories on my two desktops. The connections can be made by either a network connection or a null modem via the printer port. The program allows you to identify directories on each machine that you want to keep in sync, and it will put the most recent copy of all files on both machines. You can have a problem if you update the same file on both machines between synchronizations. In that case you choose one file or the other.

I have not been using QP2 long enough to find out if there are any issues unique to QP. I am not sure how it will handle virtual files, but I have not had problems with any real files.
