The big retail houses would bypass you and go to the large wholesalers where they have friendly arrangements.

If you/we are going to get bypassed using ARCA, can we not preference say NITE or MASH or HRZG and get filled through them?

I agree with you. ARCA can be annoyingly slow. If I am in a rush, I will go for SOES or ISLD because of this problem that ARCA orders seem to get ignored.

On the other hand, I like to use ARCA a lot because of its versatility. I can bid above the ask and get filled lower than I bid. I can bid or ask any price I want and go live and stay live until I fill or kill. After watching ISLD and SOES orders get killed over and over, or getting filled for 17 shares on ISLD and then getting killed, ARCA starts looking good.

Bottom line, the whole setup is a leaky boat and you just do the best you can.
