OT: Can someone explain to me why patching a game _always_ breaks the existing saved game files?!?! I just installed the Sin patch and, you guessed it, I'm back at the start of the game - sigh...

If they are just fixing bugs, why does the file format change in a non-backwards-compatible way?! _Very_ lame in my HUMBLE opinion.

Chip- while I tend to agree with you about TDFX having great resources and multiple design teams, I guess I have to say "heard it all before". Have been hearing about all of these design teams, yet the Banshee and V3 both leave me saying, so what? Banshee is clearly outclassed by TNT, and V3 is not innovative at all. Worse yet, TDFX is clearly VERY proud of the V3, and they really thought that they were going to "blow our socks off".

And while I know TDFX has great engineers, I can't help but think that working long and hard just might not mean that much. I mean, I am glad they are working long and hard, but that doesn't mean that some other company can't get the same results in shorter time, especially if they are working smarter. To think TDFX has the only great group of engineers would be a little arrogant. And the company's strategy is hurting them in some ways...spending resources on Glide may mean fewer resources going to a full OpenGL ICD...a serious problem according to Mr. Hook and others...

Hey, I am still long- just upset. Not at the stock price now, but at the company. Banshee goodwill is down the tubes...whatever happened to the "family of Banshee products..."? UGH...oh, and by the way, I have the new Raven drivers, and many things still crashing...

Chip, you could put some joy into my holiday by perhaps listing a few Glide only games from the TDFX games guide you mentioned? Tell me that there are a few big ones on the list and I'll feel a lot better...
