Hi Barbara--

medved.net

Try this site. They have a nifty program that works in conjunction with your real time quote source and only costs $25. You can download it and try it for free. It seems to be highly rated around SI. I gave it a try a couple of weeks ago and it is alright except it slows down my CPU somewhat. For more sophisticated end of day stuff you will need something like Windows on Wallstreet, Metastock or Quotes Plus. I think Jenna also likes Telescan.

Good luck,

JD

Thanks Barb..Software... I did not hold ADSK through earnings nor anything else in that 'category' except I'm still in FEET and re-entered TJX after earnings and an upgrade and 50 big blocks going through helped.. I'm in CHCS, CREE, BRKS,MXG..BEN and DLJ which 6 months ago I would have looked upon as 'cheap' on Friday I hesitated 'spending that much' on two stocks.. CREE is also slowly moving into 'high price' territory. I wouldn't even consider buying a stock over 40 any longer for a swing trade (2-5 days) when you can get 5-10% a day out of a stock trading at 8-20 dollars a share.

I am happy with my telescan software, but I'm using it over 2 years and I can 'bend and shape' it to my specifications better than the guys at tech support... It's not as 'multi-faceted' as tradestation but for me personally although I found tradestation pretty remarkable and I'm sure I would have been a power user in under 3 years or so! But who needs a learning curve like that.

I like to use the Telescan Investor's Platform but in tandem with the real time charts and streaming quotes and instant execution of AB Watley so I really use them together as they complement eachother. Telescan has an autorun, autosearch and prosearch and also e-search (Zacks investment search) the latter helps with the earnings plays.. I love metastock 6.5 and think that is probably the most user friendly, attractive, package in that category. I don't use that in real time however, I used to but I don't need to.

I have telescan now in real time as well as Datek, AbWatley and also Real Time Trader from NAQ as a back up. I hear that Windows on Wall Street Professional is very good but I am too set in my ways to change.

I also track using Dow Jones and Reuters which 'lets' me know when a company I am watching reports or has any news (ENZN) a case in point.. ENZN is a hi flying biotech that was in the newsletter. It was up over 2 3/4 point last week and I 'got' news on its entering a new phase just when it came out. It's down now on profit taking but that's one to watch. I should have done that with IMNX last week but didn't.
