've recently signed on as a new SI member to throw out a few issues I've thought about
but have not seen raised yet on this thread

wildbill,

Welcome! :-)

1) at AMZN's current "burn rate", how much longer can they go without having to issue
more junk bonds, or change their business strategy of spending everything they make on
more marketing/advertising.

This has been addressed but through acquisitions using stock, AMZN has at times performed a small secondary. Assuming no acquisitions of firms holding cash with the use of stock, AMZN should be out of cash by the end of 1999.

2) do people on this thread know and/or care that Bezos' previous job was manager of a
mutual fund?

Actually, it was a hedge fund although mutal fund is close enough for me, and most people on the thread know.

I hope you stay active here. We need new thoughts since I believe most of the gambit has been touched upon at one point or another.

Glenn
