I share your theory. I haven't heard anything back from the network people that they have "fixed" anything. Everything looks normal now, but there's a good chance the problem will return tomorrow.

Just to add to the finger-pointing, it is our believe that the source of the problem, whatever it is, is at Netcom....not our software...not our ISP.

We've always had multiple Netcom-specific problems in the past, and it has been a result of Netcom doing things "differently" than all other ISPs.

There also appear to be West Coast/Sprint backbone problems which are well beyond our control.

Kerry,

As to the SI response problem clearing up on the w/e, two things:
1) Saturday mid-day I still had the same problem;
2) the problem was way,way too severe to be caused by a weekday load; you may have had to experience it to understand.

Anyway, it's Monday and SI is still responding well. 'Hope it continues. I'd still like to know what what happened, only to better understand if it's likely to reoccur.
