You're right... I suppose I always assumed that I would be there with them when they do crazy things, telling them where to draw the line. Obviously, I won't. And I have to laugh at my own delusion that, say, teaching them to swim early would relieve me of any fear that they would drown. All that will happen, I suppose, is that they'll draw their lines well beyond mine. So be it. The things you mention are actually a whole lot safer then a lot of things I can imagine, like driving cars, riding bikes on busy roads, hanging out in cities, etc. Except they'll do those things too...
