From IOM's Web Site……..Jaz penetration of the business and server market could be a very significant event. **************************************************************************************** Symantec's Norton Ghost for NetWare is an ideal system tool for anyone who manages, upgrades, repairs or administers Novell NetWare servers. Norton Ghost for NetWare is essentially a disk-copying program for Novell NetWare. The entire contents of a disk or NetWare volume may be copied from one disk to another, or they may be copied to a disk image file stored on Jaz and that image file can then be used as a template to create copies of the original disk. Click here to read Symantec's White Paper. Norton Ghost for NetWare is designed to minimize the setup, installation and reconfiguration time for Novell NetWare 3.x, 4.x and 5.x. Disaster or quick recovery of failed servers is dramatically simplified. Norton Ghost for NetWare is designed to duplicate or clone entire disks, NetWare Partitions, or NetWare Volumes. It works by copying all NetWare Partition and Volume information from the source to the target disk. The source and target disk may be on the same computer, or the target disk may be on a different computer providing the two computers are connected via a network supporting TCP/IP. Norton Ghost for NetWare is particularly useful for cloning NetWare servers. There is no need to install NetWare on the target machine—this is done automatically. The source and target disks may also be different sizes—Norton Ghost for NetWare will adjust the size of the target partitions and NetWare Volumes automatically. Norton Ghost for NetWare can also be used to save the entire contents of a disk to a single disk image file, which can then be stored on a Jaz drive. This file can be used for Backup, or for cloning copies of the original disk. Jaz with Norton Ghost With Norton Ghost and Norton Ghost for NetWare, you can create a master image file saved to Jaz which is useful in: 1. Installing an operating system 2. Cloning workstations 3. Storing multiple system configurations on one disk 4. Configuring multiple systems concurrently 5. Recovering and restoring data 6. Upgrading hard drives, software or workstations Benefits of Using Jaz with Ghost 1. Timesaving (Jaz works at hard drive speeds to speed up the ghosting process) 2. Capacity (store 2GB on a single Jaz disk or up to 4GB with compression) 3. Multiplatform support 4. Attaches easily via a SCSI adapter The potential market for the jaz product line is enormous , IMHO, and could me enormous succes for jaz interms of Tot. jaz Rev. % of Tot Rev, jaz GM's amd total GM, and eps.
