My take on what will happen Monday.

AOL will not buy all of NSCP! The deal will be like when they bought compuserve. They want the browser, the site and the rest will go to Sun Microsystems. AOL will become the new hated one replacing MFST. Remember you heard it here first> <ggg> I can't wait till the open.

Greg-- the above is a repeat by me from the AOL thread.

voltaire<two blood brothers run AOL & HAMBRECHT & QUIST>
Would you spin that a little? How does that look from the porch? Any chance that Mickey needs a lesson or two from these two brothers? Think they would be so blatent as to put Goldman Sachs on the board (give me a break). Hey Voltaire, who is it that said that in business, it's not what you do that matters, as much as how you do it! Seems to me that these two brothers know a thing or two about interfacing with the financial community in the only way that matters. (hi,kemble; hope you get to read this) I guess I should wait until I find out whether the brothers have a non arrogant smile! In terms of the relative action of Dell stock in the coming days, I would strongly suggest to any shareholders who need this thing to have strength relative to the rest of the market, THAT THEY READ CAREFULLY THE STUFF THAT VOLTAIRE HAS PUT OUT IN THE LAST THREE DAYS ESPECIALLY. For me, his most meaningful point recently has been that if the market does not confirm your hopes for where the stock should be, PERHAPS YOU BETTER WAKE UP. We aren't running a fraternity here; we're here partially to decide whether we should put more pressure on the company, so the market action of this stock is on a par at least with where it should be. You may not like the way he says some things, but for my money, many of his most insiteful points are not discussed openly very many places--I believe we are extremely lucky that he has the courage to be so open with us. You might dig up what I said also recently, about complacency. My view is, if Wall Street sees A COMPLACENT ATTITUDE ON THIS THREAD, it very seriously downs the stock! As I have said here very recently, when I view the thread as complacent, I automatically view the corporation the same way. We CAN NOT sit around and listen to pontifical statements like "december is window dressing month", or "last year this" "or that"! If you're in this stock, you should be able to accept change very rapidly! What's happening now to the stock, is more a function of it's relative strength RIGHT NOW! This has nothing to do with last december! Hey, as they say on the streets of Oakland, California, let's get down to basics! Get out of any academic ivory tower. Forget about making an idol out of anyone. If wall street does not value this thing right now, in at least some minor way, we had better raise some hell in Austin Texas. Put your business school degree aside for a minute, and join the street in the street--let's find out what's really going on!...............(only trying to help)

OT. re AOL/NSCP Not to play Candide to your Voltaire, Voltaire, but how would you see the AOL vs. YHOO situation? I read a comment that now either AOL will rise to insane YHOO levels, or YHOO will decline precipitously.
Your remarks on AOL's confirmation seem right-on. I note the stock has not gone down but up on day 1.
If it is true that AOL will pay .45 of a share for each NSCP share, what are the implications.
I sold some AOL to buy NSCP as a cheaper way of owning AOL. Should I buy more? and of which stock?
all the best
