Triple-N Tuesday: NSCP, NN (Newbridge Networks), Novell

NSCP - 'nuff said already

NN
- good fundamentals; no pre-announcement
- LU chief saying ATM will be around and acknowledging NN as #1 in ATM
- bells and corps upgrading of systems - many upgrading ATM (vs going with IP only)
- run up in advance of earnings
- possible buyout by LU, then article mention of 15% stake by LU
(heard about possible potential stake early Friday morn, before news article came out - I'm always skeptic until something happens)

- has won the only 4 LDMS contracts in the WORLD!!! 2 in Canada, 1 in the Far East, the final one in TX. USA is opening up the LDMS market and several more contracts out there. NN beat out other companies including Nortel, etc. for those contracts. If pessimism in NN turns +ve NN has only one way to go.

NOVL
- no pre-announcement
- run up slightly
- 3-4 weeks back couple of huge orders near close on Friday - one trade was 600,000 shares (at $15, I believe). Friend said he heard possible buyout that Monday. Never happened. Now, who knows?

- if SUNW - AOL - NSCP deal happens, what is effect on NOVL?
