Hello August West,

Your belief in a higher spirit than man, and a higher purpose for being born into this world is well supported in the bible.
Jesus says in it that "No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him..."
Even the desire to post grub, that I doubt anyone here will get mad at you for, could have been given by God to read a bit of His word.
The higher spirit that you speak of and the bible calls God says "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
Those are the words of Jesus by whom all people according to God's word must be saved. He says no other way will do it and you can know right here and now that you are saved.

Repent. That is ask God to forgive you for your sins and be willing to turn from them.
Believe that Jesus died for you so that you can be forgiven and has risen again.
Ask Him to save you.

According to the bible that act of belief and obedience to God's word is what gives you assurance of heaven. Nothing else.

God bless you, have a great evening, and please stick around.
In Christ,
John

You wrote:
FWIW, I believe in a higher spirit than man,
You got that right.! It is the Spirit of God!

and a higher purpose for being born
into this world.

I would like to know though, what you are comparing the higher purpose to?
A higher purpose than what,..... for being born into this world?

Have a good day,
Shalom...><>

Dear August West:

>>>>FWIW, I believe in a higher spirit than man, and a higher purpose for being born into this world.<<<

I am not familiar with the term posting "grub"; so can I assume it means "food for thought".

Assume for one moment that YOU, in God's creation, are a relatively higher spirit, and lets go way out on a limb and assume that your spirit is very high in God's plan of creation and there are few spirits that are "higher" and "greater" other than THE Holy Spirit. Then can you begin to fathom for a milli-second the high calling God has called you to in Christ Jesus, and the necessity of the cross upon which Jesus hung and bled, and died; for if Satan fell from heaven "as a bolt of lightening (that quickly ) because of sin, then how much more quickly shall our sins be dispatched with.????? In Christ..gregor
