Ish, if you have enough land that you have horses, why don't you keep bees? I have always wanted to keep bees. Someday, when the children are older, I plan to move out to the country, and I will keep bees. I also dream of fruit trees. I know they take a long time to grow, though. I am thinking about buying a house here in Fairfax that has an acre yard, wonder what the neighbors would think if I had bees? There are many houses with 5 acre lots, but no sidewalks, and my kids are true suburbanites, so that's out of the question. Sigh. I wouldn't really want to have to drive them everywhere they went, and the thought of them walking without sidewalks with the local lunatic drivers keeps me in the suburbs.
