I think the "sudden" discovery of the Win95 timing bug might have had something to do with it (but not all as double witching was on Friday). Wall street didn't seem to react to it when it was first "discovered". Might well present another buying opportunity.

In other words, the first K7 will be faster than 500 MHz. This is what AMD has been saying all along, the journalists just don't like to believe it. From some other quotes from the chat session, I think its a fair assumption that the K7 will debut at 600 MHz with 200 MHz independent busses to the L2 cache and main memory.
