bday.co.za - front page story in RSA, courtesy of Searle on Dutch Sale. Now there is a good and logical reason to expect gold to recover - the exposition of the various short positions and the dawning realisation that the trend that made shorting gold profitable may not go in a straight line forever. Ironic that Munk is involved when he virtually invented forward sales of producers, but then who better?

This y2k panic stuff and the various doomsday scenarios like the '29/'98 chart comparisons just make goldbugs look stupid, imho. We don't need it, the Euro is about to send some US$ home and the carry trade will get carried right back to where it started.

A great new y2k thread #Subject-23837
