I am tempted to tell the story about the time my father ran into the hog in his brand new Chevy station wagon. However, I am new to the thread and the story gets rather, well, pungent, and I don't know how it would be received.

A hog is harder to kill than a steer. A hogs forehead is rounded and can deflect a bullet where a steer's is flat. Make an X going from each eye to the opposite ear and aim 1 inch above that. A .22 short is enough bullet. We used a .22 long rifle and the hog hitting the ground covered the crack of the rifle, it was that quick. Mad hogs are very dangerous so I was standing backup with a 12 ga. pump with 5 slugs in it in case of a boo boo.
