Rambus
+ high bandwidth (achieve by ultra-high clock speed, kind of a brute-force desgin).
+++ backed by Intel
- longer latency
- higher-cost and difficult to implement due to its ultra-high bus-speed.
- propriety desgin

SLDRAM
+ short latency
+ high bandwidth (may not be as high as Rambus initially)
+ open standard, royalty-free
+ no high-clock speed problem. (running at 100 to 200Mhz)

I have to shut up now, as my face is turning red... not feeling comfortable speaking in front of half a dozen of professional and knowledgeable engineers in this thread.
