It will have to split in the very near future. . .

Many of us have been making this assumption, but I think the more likely scenario is that EBAY will follow the example of INKT, another netrocket with a float of approximately 10% of authorized shares and those authorized shares held by insiders and brokers. They will just release the lockup ahead of time.
