Philip -

That's a good response to Mr. Glad. If you read his posts carefully, you realize that he has actually provided no real information. Instead, he is relying on the suggestion that something is wrong. His earlier posts on this subject said that he had heard that Costco and Circuit City were dropping Zip, but he didn't name a source then nor when challenged to do so.

I'd give him a solid zero on the credibility scale.

The fact that approximately 1.3 million Zip drives are presently being sold at retail every three months indicates that there really isn't any problem with demand.

Phillip,

That is very interesting news. I am sorry I did not see your prior response as I am not online as often as some of the regulars here. I am glad to see that the Zip is selling well at some stores as I have heard otherwise.

Iomega must do a great job sending these 100 MB Zip drives out the door considering they are going to be selling a competitive Zip 250 MB in a month or two. Sony and Castlewood are coming out with competitive products within a month. Imation is making a push for their backward compatible LS-120, in which sales have picked up a little bit. Teac and Mitsumi should have a product available for distribution in a few months.

It must be really difficult for any OEM to decide on a standard at this point.
