Since the Fed seems biased towards taking action lately, I wonder what might be the chances of their raising margin requirements--say from 50% to 60%. Alan Abelson has been calling for this for quite a while--not that he has any suasive power. But if they see that what they have done to help banks and bonds has fed right back into equities, maybe they might take more direct aim at the irrational exuberance there.
