this is SUCH a good point...I was giggling a little this weekend reading the papers about earnings surprises and thought....are these surprises or companies now coming out with more than what they " prepared " the market for when things looked ugly. ?????

Very interesting.

Question: Has anyone here had the guts to play PHV...phillips in the past week....????

Personal Opinion... I think we will see the Dow hit 10K within a couple of weeks... It's called the "Herd Effect"... So By Jan 8/99, my guess is that we should see it back down to the low 9K level and then she'll start climbing back in expectation of the fantastic retail numbers that the Christmas selling season is supposed to bring in... Just my thoughts, but what the 'ell do I know???...
