a valuation which we believe is conservative relative to its prior peak, a multiple of 38x.

Robert,

per Zacks, the average PE for AMAT the last 5 yr was 20.8, so I don't understand this 38X projection. Under current market sentiments, I think may be 60X is more reasonable. Therefore AMAT should easily be $120 or more within the next 12 months.

Seriously, I am stunned by recent market behavior and have been liquidating. At this pace, I may be 100% cash by Thanksgiving. There is really nothing significantly different between 9300 earlier this year, 7400 a couple of months ago and 9300 again now. I can give everyone a rerun of all the same reasons for being bearish but that would be just as nauseating as repeating the same bullish crap over and over again.

J Morgan's own projection for F2000 revenue was $10 billion about a year ago. Robbie Stephens is now saying that AMAT will miss Morgan's estimates by a measely $5 billion and therefore we should buy.

Every thread on SI got horns longer than those on Clinton's forehead. Anyone worried about this contrarian indicator?
