Emile, A loving Father chastises and scourges the sons he loves. Neglecting the soft words of warning, he now forced, because of his love, to take you behind the woodshed to apply the medicine of the soul that may lead to the Cross. Are you trying to tell us that child abuse is medicine for the soul? The idea of "scourging" a child is disgusting and criminal. Is that how you treat your children? The purpose of discipline is to teach, not to punish, and if it is applied consistently and with love, I don't think anything more than a flat hand on the backside is ever called for, or acceptable. That's all I've ever used on my son. It's been years since I needed it, and his behaviour is fine. The notion that disease is inflicted by God as a means of "scourging" his creations is too perverse to even warrant discussion. If it was true, I can't imagine what you would be suffering from. Lovely how the children of evil reveal themselves. Steve
