It really is reminiscent of the silver mania. I remember saying then, "I never thought I would live through a mania like this." I really thought that the examples of everything from tulips to Florida real estate had educated everyone.

But now it's stocks again.

Suppose everyone starts selling their houses and putting the money into Internet stocks?

Once again, I wonder if just maybe the Fed officials will meet behind closed doors and decide that something positive needs to be done to "dampen speculation."

Of course, it's already too late. But it could get even later.
