We know that Godin is closing a deal with a major cable content builder in the US, that is going to use BID.com's auction format, for a number of their clients. He was in New York to do this. Cablevision is in NY and owns and operates cable television systems, has ownership interests in and companies that produce and distribute national and regional entertainment and sports programming services.

It looks more and more like Cablevision to me.

Thinking out loud

1) BII is fast approaching Godin's goal of 80,000 to 100,000 visits a day by year end.

2) 5 % of visits turn into a sale.

3) 67% of sales repeat.

How will this be enhanced by AOL's imminent merger?

1) AOL has 14 million members as of now.

2) ICQ has attracted more than 21 million sign-ups.

3) Netscape's market share for its Navigator Internet browser is 52.2 %.

AOL's auction page places Bid.com in the top left hand corner. I think Godin's goal will be surpassed very soon.
