Let me be the first to congratulate you. Please
bask redolently in the reflected glory of the radiance
that emanates from my countenance, and other portions
of my my anatomy, in more than oriental splendor,
owing to my extreme happiness due to the fact that I have
ordered out a check for my Datek cash balance and,
if Datek actually remits my check, and if in addition
remains solvent till it clears,
I will be gloriously FREE FREE FREE
YEEEEEHHHHAHHHHHAHHHHHAAAAA.

This is foolishly premature, 'cause I ain't actually
seen the money yet, but I can't help it .... the
relief is too great.

Oh, by the way, I'm SO HAPPY you've seen fit to direct
Datek resources to site redesign rather than
addressing the issues expressed here by your most
loyal customers. It confirms my sense that you have only
contempt for us and reenforces my feeling, expressed
above, which, since you have only heard it once before
in this message, I now repeat for your amazement,
amusement, edification, and enlightenment. To wit:
YEEEEEHHHHAHHHHHAHHHHHAAAAA.

DATEK ANNOUNCES HOLIDAY SHOPPING NETWORK

This is no spoof. I did not make this up. You'll be able to buy flowers, music, stocks (not options), and other holiday gifts. Of course, you won't be able to buy anything from 9:30 to 9:45 AM.

Dear Mr. Bethge.

Datek Order entry and cancellation have severe troubles this morning till right now. In front of Datek Website, everything looks fine but when confirming or cancelling orders it doesn't work right now.
The nasdaq seems not to be that busy as the last days though.

After trying differnet servers, which resulted in the same msg: "Server temporarily busy" I see no way to delete and issue orders, so to protect capital and eventual gains here.

I ask you to add resources to the processing units very urgently!

I wish you a nice day

C.

Trading 9:30-9:45 ... ?
Options ... ?
Checking ... ?
$50 Level II ... ?
Stable, non-changing "classic" interface ... ?
Customer support ... ?
Yet another glitzy hard-to-read makeover 11/24/98

So glad Datek listens to this thread.
Imagine what would be done if they did not.

Datek: we are traders, not artists.
To a trader, black text on a plain white background is fine ...
as long as the execution rocks.

Try impressing the traders with your next "improvement."

what i'd really enjoy is being able to place an order and seeing it execute in a timely manner

Gomez Advisors must have their heads up their ......

well i won't say - but it's apparent that to Gomez substance is irrelevant and glitz is all that matters

Here's an example of real customer service. On Monday just before the open, I placed a couple of short sale orders at NDB, because I knew I couldn't get a fill near the open at Datek. One order got filled immediately at the high of the day, and the other stock never traded as high as my limit. I had no complaints. Unknown to me, NDB had some problems with executions later in the day. I was unaffected, because I didn't place any other orders. Monday night at 6:30, NDB called me at home. First they apologized for their execution problems, and then they asked me to review my orders for the day to see if there were any that should have been filled but were not filled due to their computer problems. If there were any such orders, they offered to retroactively give me a fill, even if the market had moved in my favor. Now that's service!

Robert Bethge, it is January 14, 1999. Do you know where our credit interest for December 1998 is?

Yet another reminder in a LONG standing inability of Datek to distribute credit interest in a timely manner.
