what do you guys mean when you refer to a stock as "gapping"

If a stock closes at $2.10 one day and opens up the next at $2.40 it has created a "gap" between $2.10 and $2.40

When a stock falls back, it inevitably gets stuck in these gaps, but after the gaps have been filled there is little resisitance to stop it!!

such as it were!
