thomas,
we'll be glad to help you but, first post the references you are using to get to your numbers.
we get a lot of short players who use guerrilla tactics and meaningless #'s to sow fear.
i'm not accusing you, yet. i'd just like to know how your doing your arithmetic. how old are your numbers, and where do they originate?
by the way, do you know connecticut yankee?

Thomas,

I think there is some reluctance to go through these numbers because this thread has discussed them at "great" length. I do not mean this to sound like an unwelcome sign, quite the contrary, welcome!

But if you go back quite a bit, you will see all these discussions. Besides, it won't take that long because more than half our posts are chatter- just skip over them!

Welcome,

MileHigh

PS- I will say that we have pegged Average Royalty Rate at or around 1.5%- 2.0% (but this does not make it definitve)

> royalty estimates:

The RDRAM ramp up should be faster than what you showed. I do not have access to Intel chipset road map, but Celeron chipset that uses RDRAM should be out 2H99 or 1H00 (Can't believe I have a Y2K bug in this post). Not soon after that I would image most system will be sold with RDRAM. Some chipset may still use SDRAM to cut cost but will be minority.

Your percentage figure also sounds a little low. Royalty percentage are higher on chipsets (up to 5%?). Going forward, RMBS needs to renovate better faster RDRAM standard and it should help the royalty %.
