Drew - I just now read your post (several hundred posts ago) which mentioned having (and using) some handsets for 9 or 10 years.

I am stunned !

My own experience with electronic stuff (even TV sets) has been that these things are so cheap (compared to the service (software ?) that makes them useful), that without even consciously planning it, we always tend to get new things every few years. (We often donate things like old TVs or VCRs to our kids' schools).

Weren't your old handsets the so-called "bricks," if they were that old ?
