Re: No one knowing what a ZIP 250 is

Bob,

Been there, done that a few days ago. I went to Office Depot, Circuit City and then the following day to Office Max.

All I received were a great many blank stares when I mentioned the ZIP 250. I really do hope this baby will be on the roster for December.

Aside from this, I was at Comp USA tonight and they have an enormous selection of Iomega products. There's an entire isle devoted to just Iomega. It was labled "ZIP DRIVES" and yes I think there were a few Imation drives and a couple of SparQ's. I felt like putting post-it notes on each of the SparQ's reading "WE HAVE FILED BANKRUPTCY", but I did not. I'm shocked they remain at $199 and their not on clearance yet.

And guess what I saw on the largest endcap in the computer area?...

A sign with big red letters reading COMP USA'S BEST SELLER. Under the sign was a ZIP 100 with 6 ZIP discs valued at $169. I believe it was called THE STARTER PACK or something. There were no sales on any of the drives...this not until the day after Thanksgiving I suppose.

There were three major stores within a half block's distance..COMP USA, CIRCUIT CITY and BEST BUY. All of them were selling the ZIP at the same price of $119 and ALL of them had no clue on what a ZIP 250 was.

The dip in price today on IOM...consider it a gift.
