In regards to Point #1
"Mir is shut down and the stock pile of large gems is gone."
Please see Rhombouts report on the Rex site., Terra Consult
March 31., where he states that the Mir pipe will be coming back
on line., Personal opinion "It wont happen tommorow., nor will
Winspears project based on history of Diamet and Aber."
I agree the oversupply seems to have diminished from 10Mil carats
to 4mil which is implied in Rhombouts report.
2. Point # 2., You state DeBeers has all but abandomed the low
end of the market. I disagree., they have throttle back sales., in the
face of shrinking demand from Aisa., however lower grade diamonds
are still in demand., India., US am I not correct.?
Assuming your assumption is correct that the Udacynia will close soon
(i.e 10Mil carats average of 95US it would seem that would reinforce
Abers position as not only a provider of 60US carat stones but
positioned as well in the large stone department should Winspear
produce what all is hoping.}
Lastly on this point., you are making assumptions which cannot be
accurately projected., unless you
1. Foretell demand side in the year 2002.
2. You must assume in your trashing of Aber., that the Indian market
will be not be a force., or the US market., which accounts for 1/3
of diamond sales., lots of Walmarts Teevee., and Tiffanys expansions
Can you foretell the Asian market in the year 2002., how about Europe., or China.?
3. Okay., in regards to Namdeb would you go on record saying
that "Namdeb onshore"., which produced 793,000 carats valued
at 325US is to be ignored were not stones of equal or higher value
than Winspear. Please furnish documentation in regards to your
statement that 8 pointers and 25 pointers command 325US carats
per ton., tell me that the offshore trawlers like Namco are pulling
up large stones that cut to 8 pointer., and 25 pointers.
It seems logical to me that tonnage producing .03 carats per ton
commanding rough prices of US 325 proves that generalization misleading. If I am wrong here please provide documentation.
4. If you contend that Udaynia is closing., why would not Southernera
which produces stones aroun 112.OOUS per carat., fill the void.., partially?
Seems DeBeers has some interest there as well.

Now maybe you would like to explain to me how rumors have surfaced that DeBeers has found pipes of economics in the NWT.,
but yet Canadians dont want to talk about it., as well do you not
think VI where DeBeers has found a new kimberlite field., is going
to be ignored by the market.? I seem to recall someone telling me
that "the indicator Geochemistry leaked by DeBeers stated that
the indicator mineral chemistry was better than the NWT." I seem
to recall that conversation Teevee., would you care to respond.?

If you think I am pestering you and nitpicking., I truely apologize.,
but as a US investor. I find little recourse in depending on what Canadians say about their deposits., when they are guarding the hen
house.
I have heard the enviromental issues swept by before., and if this company wants to tell investors that everything is rosey., in the NWT.,
then I would suggest they back this up with definitive answers.

For the critics., I am not Canadian., I dont short Canadian stocks.,
can some others on this thread say that as well.?

Sincerely
George J. Tromp
