I'm more worried about 3Dfx's core customers right now than a Gateway announcement: hardgame.com The above article is a bunch of Usenet posts (from the 3Dfx newsgroups). The hardcore 3Dfx users are NOT happy with the V3. This is the same group of users that created the buzz about 3Dfx that allowed them to gain credibility as a performance company. They may release their "Rampage" chip later, but the V3 (or Banshee2) will be another "Rush" card in terms of damage to their performance reputation. Michael btw - still long, the V3 may end up being a great OEM card and that's where the steady money is. Rampage will give 3Dfx the next platform to expand on.
