NEW YORK, Nov 24 (Reuters) - Credit Suisse First Boston analyst Wendell Laidley said Tuesday it started coverage of Computer Associates International Inc. (NYSE:CA - news) and BMC Software Inc. (Nasdaq:BMCS - news) with a buy rating and Compuware Corp. (Nasdaq:CPWR - news) with a strong buy rating.

-- The price target for Compuware is $100, for BMC $61.50, and for Computer Associates it is $49.50.

-- Further details were not immediately available.

-- Computer Associates shares were up 1/16 at 44-3/4, BMC shares were up 1/16 at 49-3/4 and Compuware shares were up 7/8 on Tuesday.
