Marcie Mc Govern: today the Conference Board released the latest
Consumer Confidence #'s; reported that their measure had jumped by
either 11 points or 11 %(I didn't catch the scale on TV report); a very large recovery from Octobers market related dip.
Also they have a study which asks shoppers periodically how much money they plan to spend on Christmas shopping; this year the dollar amount is up substantially, according to Delos Smith, the Board's spokesperson.
He seemed to be VERY pleased with recent developments, as per the market recovery, IMF/Brazil, Japan bank reform/bailout, et al.
especially as it would impact this Christmas' shopping trends.
We all know where America will be spending those additional dollars this season.
WMT is up 90% already this year, but if rally continues, maybe we'll see $85/share, unless this is a double top on Dow.
Regards,
JCM
