Interesting piece on macro viruses in November, 1998 "Boardwatch" magazine. They can only infect Microsoft Word, Excell, Powerpoint, and Access files, due to peculiarities of the way Microsoft stores formatting information - in a .dot file. "To fully protect yourself from macro viruses, get rid of Microsoft Office and switch to Lotus SmartSuite or Corel WordPerfect Suite."
