now that the deal is done
we will have to see the winners and losers
obvious winner: msft
they can now claim, as they are starting to do
that this deal proves that they do not
have a monopoly
it strengthens aol and allows netscape's tech be used aggressively
by companies with better management

i think the aol nod to sunw is a great kudo for java
i am sure msft is cursing right now
--they may have to go to work for a living
how this affects cych is uncertain

but one thing is for sure--it will give
aol, nscp, sunw and its allies more likelihood
of standing up against the behemoth
from redmond
