Newsbytes, Monday, November 23, 1998 at 10:59

HONG KONG, CHINA, 1998 NOV 23 (NB) -- By Staff, IT Daily. Fore Systems
[NASDAQ:FORE] announced in Hong Kong last week a new series of multi-
gigabit application aware routing switches.

The company claims its new ESX-4800 is the fastest switch ever tested
that can route more than 38 million packets per second (Mpps) of 64
byte IP (Internet Protocol) packets.

The ESX-4800 and ESX-2400 have up to 48 Gigabit Ethernet ports, or 384
10/100 Ethernet ports, and the ESX-4800 delivers up to 38 Mpps
forwarding at Layer-2, Layer-3 and Layer-4. The ESX-2400 offers half
the capacity and density of the ESX-4800, with up to 24 Gigabit Ethernet
ports, 192 10/100 Ethernet ports, and up to 19 Mpps forwarding.

The switches provide application aware switching to classify application
flows and enforcement policies, such as security or class of service.

Truffette,

I agree with both you and Ed, but it would be nice to know what caused the slide yesterday in an otherwise stellar stock day. I don't like working in the dark, and with Fore you're almost always in the dark.
