This time, TR3 only gets coverage
in the more desperate for circulation rags.

Not true in the UK, its on a high proportion of mags, and I expect it to be on the remainder this month, along with the demo. Plus unprecedented publicity, and spin offs (clothes etc) now, and a film to come.

On the subject of Half-life, IMHO it is a different sub-genre to TR. It is first person, not third person game, so I think, though there is obviously an overlap, that it competes much more with Quake and Quake wannabees. I think that Indiana Jones would have been much tougher competition, had it been out now, but it will not be released for another 6 months. There is another game, whose name escapes me, that looks like a pretty good 3rd person (metal machine?) but I think that is PSX only.

Dont underestimate the power of Lara. You may scorn the tacky magazine covers, but the number one revenue spinner on the net is porn. Sex sells, and TR would not have been TR with Lara Croft. I think she has a few more games left in her yet!

We'll see.
