<< I guess my question to you is what do you want AOL for? >>

I don't know what Limtex's answer is, but here are three of mine.

I've had AOL since 1992. Everyone has my e-mail address. To change e-mail addresses at this stage would be a pain.

AOL gives me five screen names as part of my basic service. This means four other people in my family can have free e-mail accounts piggy-backed on my account, including wife, my daughter, and my semi-destitute brother-in-law's thirteen year old son in Tennessee. (I keep one screen name in reserve for stealth communications.)

While AOL does have annoying performance issues, primarily speed, there are compensating ease-of use advantages and some kid-oriented content not otherwise available.

ok here's one very good reason why aol. becuase at the moment i know of no other servuce that allows me and my partners to log on and get e-mail around the world in almost every country we go to and that's quite a few. MSN doesn't cover all the territories and isn't as good in out view.

aol workd and is reliable.

others may have more reasons but my guess is that aol will soon enough start full realtime broadcasting like tv and you won't need the old fasshioned tv stations any more. they will still have a market for those that want to watch sports and soap operas and there is a huge market for those but for those that are not so much interested in tthose toipics and are in business or the arts or government or defence or international travellers then aol will be it and more so.

IMHO

regards,

L
