If the board accepts the bid, will they get sued by shareholders?
Well, a stock with a reasonable following would get sued
immediately. Consider what would happen if Cisco got a takeover bid
for $60/share on October 8th, the day that they plummeted to
$41/share (By the way, Cisco is now in mid-70's). If the board
accepted that bid, they'd get sued by over a dozen investor groups.

Nobody follows Axsys. All their investors are small time (me too!).

Bob: Interesting company. I see you have done a lot of company updates at your site on Dycom, one of your big winners. But you do not seem to do updates on the likes of AXYS. You would think that an offer for the company at $15 per share would make it into a company update for AXYS on your site but it is nowhere to be found. I would think that some one who owns the stock might be interested in that information. Better yet, how about someone thinking of purchasing AXYS now? Surely they would like to know about an AXYS bid as it puts a ceiling on any gains. You know, I do not recall you discussing this offer in a newsletter issue at all. Your last update on AXYS was in August. Did the company die since then or is this a tacit sell signal? Your stock coverage used to be excellent. What happened?
