The answer is very simply this, a resurrected Jesus appeared to them with instructions to preach the gospel. They obeyed."

God will surely bless your obedience David. I pray he raise up more labourers in the harvest like yourself.
Our duty is not to convert, but to present the gospel, the Holy Spirit will do the rest.
