Lexmark [ not to be confused with leaxr ]
is coming out with a printer that includes a
microprocessor so you put the flashcard in and
a color picture comes out. I believe the price
will be about 300 or thereabouts;

No need to own a computer or a gadget to transfer
to a computer as the printer is set up to accept
the cards and spit out pictures all by itself.
This makes it possible to be a photographer without
the need to ever tie up a computer !
and you don't need a darkroom

Ausdauer, the concept is great. I'd like to see something for WebTV so that users without a PC could crop photos on their TV. Nintendo and Sega could get in on the act too!

Buttons to select size, copies and matte/glossy would be nice. A PhotoCD option is obvious. It would greatly enlarge the digital camera market.

I can see how a company like Kodak could set up service bureaus in major cities to keep the mailing time to a minimum, perhaps even routing prints to "the store nearest you".
